GoldBox Views
The example below illustrates some of the special capabilities of GoldBox Views. Click on the thumbnail
to see the View. The text describes some of the View's more notable features.

Send "templated" E-mail at the click of a button, and have a copy sent to the
appropriate person or persons within your organization. GoldMine allows you
to merge to E-mail templates, but there are a couple of disadvantages to
    GoldMine's technique:

  • Selecting the correct Template in GoldMine's Document Center can be
a bit of a pain, especially if you don't really want the Subject line of each
Template to explicitly tell its purpose. GoldMine's convention of
identifying each Template by its Subject line just isn't good for this.

  • GoldMine does not allow you to make additional recipients a part of the
E-mail Template. You have to add them manually at the time of sending.

GoldBox uses a template called ViewForm. It is somewhat similar to, but definitely different than, GoldMine's
E-mail Templates. It  "feeds" GoldMine's E-mail, but is not an E-mail client itself. But using it in conjunction
with a GoldBox View, it is possible to insert the
Subject; the primary recipient; as many additional
recipients as desired
; and any internal text desired. All these values can be the result of evaluating
dBase expressions.
This means any additional recipients can be derived from data in the primary recipient's
Contact record; or even derived from data in the Contact's record, based on translation tables. It is NOT
possible to auto-include attachments using the GoldBox solution; nor is it possible to send CC: or BCC:
(except manually). Although HTML ViewForms are possible, they are not recommended.

Using the View couldn't be simpler. Just choose a description and press the button that shows it. The E-
mail will be merged and appear, read to mail or edit, in a second or two. In the screenshot detail above, part
of the View is shown in the lower right corner (the entire View has 9 buttons). The merged E-mail is shown,
along with part of the Contact record. The View itself is launched by the second Taskbar button shown. Once
a button is clicked, the View minimizes, ready to be used again.
